Principled Fiscal Conservatism

On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal provided an account how “President Obama’s $825 billion spending plan…ran into a brick wall of principled fiscal conservatism” as Eric Cantor and House Republicans proudly and unanimously voted against the plan.

It went on to quote the House Republican whip in saying,

“Democrats turned the bill into a pork-fest…There was five times more money in the bill for resodding the Capital Mall than for job-creating tax cuts.”

What happened to common sense? It certainly does not exist in Congress!!
The stimulant bill is not going to accomplish much – it seems like a reward to greedy people and to organizations with damn poor management. Look how this money is being handled now – small banks accept money in order to remain competitive, not that they need it!

Why not pay every US taxpayer $500,000, tax free, and let the spending begin. That would immediately create demand, then jobs, and money to the banks, and cost much less than the $900 Billion Congress is asking me to help pay. Keynes said spend money – the citizens can certainly spend it better than Congress!

GOP has a huge problem and their stonewalling at this particular time shows exactly how out of touch with the times and their constituites they really are. Too damn bad they didn’t put on this show when TARP funding was on the block. Too little-too late.
The last 8 years of GOP leadership has put us in the position we currently find ourselves. And now that the economy has been run into the ground do to lack of oversight and our “do nothing Congress” the GOP pouts and does nothing.
GOP better get their act together and start thinking about who they serve-you were elected by the people yet you serve big business-over and over again.

Thanks for voting against the bail out. We need more common sense in this country. This bill does nothing more than increase the size of and dependence on government. We don’t want it! Free people can decide what to spend their money on. We shouldn’t be forced into government health care and programs we don’t want or need.

    Congressman
Please do something to stop this solcialism bill from passing. Talk to all of your fellow comgressmen from both side of the house to get them to vote for the people and not the party line. Tell them we do not want this bill and if they want an other term a NO vote is required.

    Thanks Chuck Collins

IT IS UNREALISTIC AND UNFAIR TO BAILOUT IRRESPONSIBLE HOMEOWNERS, WHOM SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR A HOME. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BUYER BE BEWARE?

iT IS A MISTAKE TO BAIL EVEN ONE HOMEOWNER WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED!
