One year ago, when they took control of Congress, House Democrats made many promises. Most of all, Democrats promised you that they were ready to govern – over the past year it has become all too clear that they have let you down.
Take a moment to watch our latest web video, which highlights the performance of House Democrats over the past year. With an 11 percent approval rating, the lowest in recorded history, it's no wonder that Speaker Pelosi recently remarked, "I know that Congress has low approval ratings, I don't approve of Congress, because we haven't done anything."
After watching the video, be sure to leave a comment on this blog with your feedback.

December 4th, 2007 at 6:55 pm Did anyone really expect much from this bunch of whining, America hating, obstructionists?
December 4th, 2007 at 7:00 pm thank you for the video it was nice to see Pelosi eating some crow, I only wish Dirty Harry Reid was there to share in it… one point that needs to be made about the lack of action by this congress is the under riding fear that most of of us have that they WILL do something. so in short I am happy that nothing has been accomplished because of the damage they could be doing.
December 4th, 2007 at 7:05 pm Excellent! Those are amazing quotes right from Pelosi. I loved to see this on tv.
December 4th, 2007 at 7:09 pm Amazing how little they have done to fix anything. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But if it is bleeding to death you had better fix it or prepare for a funeral.
December 4th, 2007 at 7:09 pm This is a very well made video. I have thought for a long time now that this is “Do Nothing Congress” and they have confirmed my belief. Pelosi believes that not supporting our military is much more important than taking care of our beautiful America. I ready to put the Republicans back in office. Thank you for sharing.
December 4th, 2007 at 7:21 pm Video really sums it up, however, I would hate to see a bail out of the mortgage crisis. Also I really don’t see the Republicans putting forth any REAL action on the other issue’s.
December 4th, 2007 at 7:29 pm Hi!
Yes it’s true, the Democrats have done nothing, which, as someone said, is good. However, they won because the Republicans did practically nothing of value over six years. And let’s not forget the amnesty for illegals the President tried to shove down our throats along with many Republican Senators and Congressmen, and the fact that they, the Republicans, have really done nothing to stop the flow and send those here illegally back.
There’s been nothing done by the President to build the fence although the money has been approved, and we sit in fear that president Bush and company may still try to push amnesty through.
The Democrats have done nothing, but our Republicans have failed us in many ways.
Best, Mike
December 4th, 2007 at 7:33 pm Thanks for reminding us. The Democrats spend so much time trying to put roadblocks on anything that President Bush requests that they are doing absolutely nothing. Thank goodness that they haven’t been able to raise our taxes or get any more pork passed.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:07 pm This current Demoncratic Congress is a disgrace and they need to be impeached. They are not doing anything for us, the American taxpayer, except continue to be anti-military, anti-American, elitist, pro-terrorism, pro-illegal alien, money-grubbing, tax-crazy, power hungry, good for nothings. They’re getting paid to work for us, not act like a bunch of primadonnas on a daily basis.
Thanks for the video! I’d love to see it played on every main stream TV channel every hour but that idea is simply a dream.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:10 pm The fickle voters forgot what it was like when the democrats controlled Congress for 40 years. There ideology never changes..more taxes, more govenment control, more regulations, more socialistic policies, etc, etc. To hear the hoop-la-la on the NEI report on Iran is an example of their stupidity! They never care who wrote the report, where the information came from etc. They only care that it makes Bush look bad.Well, they will be mistaken here too as soon as all the factual information on that report is revealed. The democrats in Congress should all be dismissed for taking taxpayer money and not producing anything to benefit the citizens. Such inaction would not be tolerated in any other business! The real problem is the apathy of the voters who have become so dependent on government that they allow such behavior by voting some of these people in over and over again.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:18 pm Being a “reformed Liberal and Democrat” part of why I’m re-registering Republican soon has to do with the throughly tacky, UnAmerican behavior of the socialist’s known as Democrats in the House and Senate. I have been a Democrat (on paper) for 34 years, and I hate what the Democrats have become… a bunch of power hungry, socialists who want to steal away my freedom! The Video just brings home the idea that they aren’t in it to serve “The People”. Thanks for sharing.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:30 pm Death, taxes [please Fair Tax] and defeatocrats! Inevitable.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:31 pm great video!
but like other have said, these socialists need to be removed from office at least. but the Republicans need to show something besides trying to be like the democraps! this nation needs our borders secured and illegals taken care of immediately. thanks,
December 4th, 2007 at 8:34 pm This congress is worst of the worst. Pelosi is a disgrace to women in a leading capacity. Harry Reid is even lower. It is hard to fight the issues that we have when the Democrats and the media tell you everyday what a terrible country we live in. The war is not in Iraq it is here in America trying to fight the dems day in day out and trying to point out we live in a wonderful country with thanks to the military. Harry Reid finds the war lost and Hillary Clinton and the congress do not trust Patreus. Not a bit of wonder people are getting down with their political direction. Democrats have made it clear they hate America. I suspect not many democrats sleep at night because we live in such a terrible country that they try to instill in us. They can’t pass any bills without their interfering with procedures and spending even more money than the previous congress. They think we are stupid I guess. With the exception of Virginians who seem to like higher taxes as they continue to vote more Democrats in. This house will continue to fight those crazy Dems in congress. I hope there will be many others with us. Their nuts!!!! They want to run our life. They don’t want to defend us. Uh Uh don’t let them in!!! Dems had there chance now lets get rid of those crazies!!!!! Dems have divided this country because of their hatred for Bush and political gain. People are down because of the retirements of many republicans but I look at it this way. We would love to clear house of many. This is our chance start now lets get some new members in there with experience that really want to work for you and me. In the elections of 08 start voting the Democrats out if you value your future. It will take a little time but it will be worth it to the American people. Keep a stiff upper lip we live in a wonderful country!!! Even with complete control of congress they don’t believe we do. If they did get in the White House you watch them and the media tell you what a wonderful country it its. They are appalling what extent they will go to for victory. I do hope they help out the military with the dollars needed soon other than that I am with Calvin we are blessed the Democrats have done nothing.
December 4th, 2007 at 8:37 pm Great video! Let us keep in mind though that the republicans didn’t much either their last time out. And why? Because they were apparently afraid to stand up against the hand ringing Libs. I will vote republican again, but if there were a 3rd party with a conservative bent I’d vote that way!
December 4th, 2007 at 8:54 pm I am hopeful that youtube.com, foxnews.com, townhall.com and newsmax.com & the likes of hosts Glenn Beck, Sean Hanity and Rush will help us free thinking civilized people overcome the last two years of Liberal rule and the last 7+ years of non-Reagan conservative rule to champion our cause and bring this country back to the right center and expand our reach to make America great again. We must demand leadership and backbone from those elected. Reach out and touch someone with this message – I did!
Thanks Congressman Cantor for helping lead our country.
December 4th, 2007 at 9:06 pm Eric,
I totally agree with you and do not understand why anyone would vote democrat in the coming election; keep getting the word out. I forwarded this to several on my list.
December 4th, 2007 at 9:37 pm Great Video! It’s time for the Republicans to take back control of Congress.
December 4th, 2007 at 10:30 pm Sorry, Eric, I’m a 62 year old conservative who is as happy as the rest of you that the Dums have proven their worthlessness, but I think the music and video segments are somewhat juvenile and take away from the seriousness of the message you are trying to impart. And I love CCR. It just didn’t resonate with me. I follow politics so I am aware of the Congressional circus. I don’t have a lot of respect for the way Republicans squandered our reputation over the last 8 tears, so this ad rings a little hollow to me. I’m waiting for some statesmen to show up.
December 4th, 2007 at 11:03 pm Eric,
Although I’m sure you would/will one day make a formidable Speaker, who but you can hold the Virginia senate seat for us now!?
Eva Nagler
December 4th, 2007 at 11:19 pm I thank God that the (Socialist) Democrats haven’t done anything.
December 5th, 2007 at 12:10 am Pelosi & company came into congress with a promise to show America that time was now to make changes. It was a media event as NBC’s anchors were all but dancing on their desks in approval of a job well done. Hannity was forced to take second chair behind Colmes, and the EIB network went into mourning. The Bushwackers had finally taken the “next step” in their “blame America first” agenda, as over 65% of Americans yawned, and said maybe we can find something on the TV worth watching now.
Their is a song that should be included in the next production. It’s called “Everybody Knows” because in this Country, it simply isn’t a matter of worthyness to be spending time watching politics.
The results are casual.
December 5th, 2007 at 12:52 am This Democratic Ccongress has brought only humiliation and embarassment to us as a nation. They demean their President, their Armed Forces, and the American way of life.
Their only goal is to turn this country into a Socialistic society, free of morality and especially free of concern for our fellow man.
They long for the 60’s when their motto was “if it feels good do it” and “Screw the Man”. Liberals had no self respect for themselves or others, then or now.
How foolish we must look to the world-allowing this to go on in our seat of Government. The American people have elected to be governed by the people who waited in airports to spit on our returning troops during Vietnam. Saying they are a disgrace doesn’t even come close.
December 5th, 2007 at 8:59 am This was going to be the most ethical Congress ever! Pelosi blew that. Clinton is blowing that. Where did ethics reform take them? To forgiveness? If Republicans had done what they have done they would be cruxified!
December 5th, 2007 at 9:28 am This bunch of democrat idiots is going to ruin this nation, if they don’tget us all killed first.
December 5th, 2007 at 9:53 am It is obvious. High crime and high taxes are the Democrats themes song.
They loathe the military and have refused to fund the war.
Retreat, defeat and surrender is their current path as it was in 1975.
If they gain the Presidency in 2006 and continue their control of Congress you can kiss the Land of the Free and Brave GOODBYE!
December 5th, 2007 at 10:21 am This was a great video although my sound kept coming in and out. Pelosi’s comments were certainly good to hear. The ones I was able to hear that is.
This is certainly “a do nothing Congress”. The Demorats are worthless and are trying to give our country away. They don’t support anything that is worthwhile in our country. They are trying to give entitlements to every race and creed. They think that the Iraqis and Syrians are not a threat to our security.
Our country does not need anymore immigrants. We don’t need any more tired, poor and potentialy dangerous people coming into our country. Let them screw up their own country. They merely come here because it is a sure thing. Not like at the beginning when my forefathers fought and died for our freedom. My ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and some fought in the Revolutionary War so I know what I am talking about.
December 5th, 2007 at 10:21 am I find it absolutely unexcusable and irresponsible of all members of Congress to play partisan politics with lives of our men and women in Uniform who are ordered to the front lines to protect all of us. I find Democrats are without a clue as to what made this country the most desirable place on earth to live, work and raise a family. Democrats are too busy rewritting and spinning history, they have totally forgotten or do not wish to recognize the Judeo Christian principles on which this country was founded and observed by over 90% of the population.
I blame Republicans for falling into the political correctness culture created by Dems. I blame Republicans for failing to tirelessly standup up for these priniciples and getting the message out. I find Republicans have abandoned their platforms and have acted more like Democrats. This is the greatest nation on earth or than man has ever known, and we are giving it away for the sake of Political Correctness. We should never apologize to anyone, we do not owe any nation on earth an apology for anything. They owe us, I am tired of politicians blaming the U.S. for 9/11. I do not have any tolerance for anyone who would allow any conversation in their presence to blame the U.S. for all the worlds problems of today. I believe that EVIL exist and I believe that this nation has faced EVIL before many times and prevailed. God Bless American.
December 5th, 2007 at 10:37 am Finally, put Cantor in charge of ads!!!!! This is the type of ad that should be running durning the election season to remind the voters that Washington needs republicans in charge. More please sir.
December 5th, 2007 at 10:51 am Mr Cantor
This needs National exposure, I wish that ALL GOP House and Senate Members would send it to all of their Constituents.. It is Better that any Debacle on CNN by the Democrats to get the Independent VOTE!
Perhaps the Inactive GOP National Committe might want to use it also… if they ever wake up!
December 5th, 2007 at 12:12 pm AS MUCH AS I DETEST THE BEHAVIOR OF THE JACKASS PARTY, I FIND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY LEADERSHIP GUILTY OF NOT ATTENDING TO BUSINESS, UPHOLDING THE PARTY PLATFORM AND ALLOWING THE RINO’S TO CORRUPT THE PARTY’S ABILITY TO DEFEND PRINCIPLES AND MAKE PROGRESS FOR GIVING CREDENCE TO THE PARTY INFLUENCE.
THESE POINTS HAVE COST US VALUBLE TIME, POSITION AND STAINED OUR HONOR, THIS HAS GIVEN MANY CAUSE TO DECLARE THEMSELVES INDEPENDENTS AND IT WILL TAKE MORE TIME TO REGAIN THEIR NUMBERS.
December 5th, 2007 at 2:01 pm Great Video. Wish it said one final thing. “No, our troops can’t have anymore money unless we can run the war our way.”
December 5th, 2007 at 3:54 pm Good video, but I think one way to sum up the comments so far is “you can’t beat nothing with nothing”. You know the issues and where the bulk of Americans stand. Deal with ILLEGAL immigration – build the fence AND make it easier for employers to check status – then crack down hard if they hire illegals. Put the local cops on the job – they know who these people are. Entitlements – we can’t afford social security and medicare as they are, so the REPUBLICANS added the prescription drug benefit to the deal. Its like they said “we are going broke so what lets max out the credit cards”. Well, they are the American people’s credit cards, and we want the spending spree to stop! The Republican party could make a lot of headway if they simply based the platform on what the Constitution plainly says and then held members to it. My two cents.
December 5th, 2007 at 4:35 pm Just to remind our political party “history tends to repeat it’s self” and in this case it’s root cause is our own partys inability to accomplish anything when they controlled both houses (outside of the contract with America) SOOOO what happened the disunity within the party and our tendency of over political correctness turned the electorate against the GOP. We all know how bad the Dems are but as you portray their political failings you fail to realize that in totality this congress has the lowest ratings ever, ever. My feelings is disunity within the party and very poor leadership is still a problem. What is needed is a unified agenda for the electorate to see which may build some confidence in our politicianswhich is also needed sorely. These are thoughts. You have to come up with the answers. And please alert the politics as usual crowd that that time is over and if needed a complete change could be possible. Get united! No amnesty! Fix Social Security! Make the tax cuts permanent! Fix our borders! Win the war! these themes could be a good starting point. Keep trying but there seems to be few voices in the wilderness. Oh! ANWR Also do not take the people as fools this new button pushing to communicate crowd knows the phonies. That is why Hillary will never be elected & some on our side. Get united behind a good agenda and you will see a great response. Good Luck.
December 5th, 2007 at 5:35 pm All this needs to be remembered a year from now when We go to the
voting booth. All the amnesty pushers, and those who wish to wave a white flag
in the middle east before completing Our mission there must be voted out of office,
and replaced with those who will protect Our borders, support Our Military, and
do everything possible to protect middle-class America from economic ruin.
December 6th, 2007 at 12:51 pm Obviously Democrats have failed America again. Obviously Democrats have once again shifted our attention away from those seeking to destroy us, to domestic issues only Democrats (socialists) could love.
However, and as has been mentioned in previous posts, we Republicans have only ourselves to blame.
Is Rep. Cantor one of the “new” Republicans? Will he and others finally bring the party back to fiscal sanity? Will they finally abandon plans to pander to greedy businesses that exploitedly employ illegal aliens at cheap labor rates, while the taxpayers of the nation supplement those businesses by paying for the health care, education, possibly collegiate education, and numerous other social services programs?
If this nation is attacked, Republicans had better hope and pray the media downplays or obscures the fact that some or many of the attackers came across our borders illegally or they overstayed Visa’s they should never have been granted to begin with. The media hate us “xenophobes, us bigots, us racists, us nativists, because open borders matches the socialist agenda of one world order. So the party may be protected & the public never really know attackers came in or stayed illegally.
We want the government out of our lives, our homes, our pocket books, our faith practices, our hunting trips, and everything else. But courts demand we obey laws they enact or establish as precedence.
Taxes, real reforms will never happen so long as we pander to the special interests looking to take money from us and spend it according to “their” priorities. “We” the people are incapable of determining how to properly spend our own money according to the socialist drivel we keep hearing. Think things were bad at DMV when you went to get a license renewal? Just wait til the government runs our health care system. Think the Canadians have it bad waiting for services. Just wait til socialist bureaucrats in Washington begin deciding who gets treatment & who does not, & eventually they will even decide “IF” some get health care.
We Republicans need not become radicals on issues. But we had better get back to the basics that made our party great. Because if we allow Hillary types into the offices of the land, it will be only a matter of time before they sell us out to the international cabal that folks like George Soros run!
Then, perhaps our only saving grace may be prayer!
December 6th, 2007 at 3:38 pm Great video, only would add that the footage of the athletes used in no way implies that they are dumb enough to support Pelosi and cohort. LOL!
This Congress should be ample demonstration of the lack of integrity of the Democratic Party. It is great that with talk radio, FoxNews, and blogs that the utter bankruptcy of the Democrats can no longer be hidden from the American People.
December 7th, 2007 at 11:03 am Congress – Dems and Reps – share that 11% rating. What will we do to show that we Republicans have learned from our mistakes of the last 7 years? How can you, Mr. Cantor change the culture of corruption and unfettered spending that grew with control of the congress?
December 7th, 2007 at 2:03 pm Excellent video, well done. We need to see more of this. I hope all of your Republican colleagues see it. They/we need to be on the offense. The other side never gives up, neither should we. Thank you for all your hard work.
December 7th, 2007 at 9:42 pm Back to the bench? These guys should go to the showers!
December 16th, 2007 at 1:39 pm Funny – and true. But the GOP brought it on themselves by trying to outspend and out-left the Dems. The only way Republicans are going to regain control is to return to the idealogy of smaller government, low taxes and less regulation.
